Chapter yard tour with Sarah Foltz Jordan, 3305 Troy Brett Trail (north of Duluth).
"For this yard tour, we will visit a variety of native wildflower plantings at different stages (5 years to a few weeks old) and talk through: methods of site preparation, invasive weed control, plant selection for different soil types, pollinator forage and nesting habitat, growing natives from seed in a greenhouse and outdoors, replacing nonnative ornamentals with natives, and incorporating native fruit-bearing shrubs into vegetable gardens and other landscaping.
We'll wrap up with an optional short hike to visit two different native plant communities in the wild (cedar bog, upland hardwood forest)."
Heads up that we are out of town- about 15 minutes north of the roundabout on Glenwood/Snively. Carpool if possible. There's a long driveway- We can fit about 6 cars up by our house and overflow can park on the road. For road parking: turn around in our driveway as if you are heading back towards Jean Duluth and park on the right side of road.
